My Role on the CARA Team Match Talented Learning Professionals with Outstanding Learning Opportunities As a Recruiting Manager, I work closely with Account Managers to understand the needs of our clients and identify the best possible candidates for their learning projects. How I got here After graduating from Drake University with a degree in Business Administration in 1985, I started my career in insurance with the Kemper Group. I found that insurance wasn’t providing me with the challenges I was looking for, so I eventually found my way into executive search. I worked with The Chicago Search Group from 1989 until 1994, providing retainer-based executive recruiting services and placing executives in a variety of different positions and industries. In 1994 I joined the former CARA Corporation as a Recruiter in the Engineering and Scientific Systems division. I recruited hardware and software engineers for consulting assignments in the Chicago area. In that eight year period I was also able to take on several other roles in sales and branch management. Why I joined CARA After leaving CARA Corporation, I transitioned into selling IT consulting services and spent time with Comsys and Princeton Information and, most recently, as an independent Executive Search consultant. I returned to the CARA Group in 2010 as a Recruiting Manager largely because of the opportunity to rejoin many of my former colleagues from the original CARA. |
