CARA’s team also participates in various fund raising and support-based activities throughout the year:

On June 24th, The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network is hosting the 2018 Purple Stride 5K at Soldier Field in Chicago.  CARA Friends Team was started by CARA’s co-founder, Jane Ehrenstrom, who lost her mother and brother to this 4th deadliest of all cancers. Sadly today, 73% of patients die within the first year of diagnosis. More research is need to change those statistics, and only 2% of the National Cancer Institute’s budget is allocated to fund pancreatic cancer research. Private donations are crucial.
