Welcome to CARA's first ever Leadership Edition of Eolas, our newsletter for clients and friends. We are dedicating the lion's share of this issue to leadership, a topic that is always important—particularly in times of change. And our industry and our world are certainly experiencing big change. Technology change. Social change. Economic change. Geopolitical change. Climate change. Cultivating great leadership is something that many businesses set aside in the darkest days of the recent economic downturn. Now we see a light at the end of the tunnel as organizations struggle to fill today's growing leadership gaps while they simultaneously compete for talent and market share in an expanding, mobile and global marketplace. In this edition of Eolas, we explore proven ways organizations can enhance their leadership development programs and drive business performance. Our feature article, "Growing Business Leaders: Tips to Spring Forward" examines why companies are recommitting to leadership development and how their strategies will reap returns for the organization. The article also offers several best practices from businesses that are successfully enhancing their programs and expanding their leadership talent pipelines. This issue also includes a case study in leadership development from our client Career Education Corporation (CEC). Explore how a transformation in management training for CEC also saved the company hundreds of thousands of dollars in training costs. You'll also get the chance to meet one of CARA's Account Executives, Tim Devine, and read about upcoming business and community events where you can see CARA in action.
I am also happy to share that this newsletter does not mark the end of our current Leadership Development exploration. Early next month, we will release the findings of our 2012 Leadership Development Pulse Survey, which is already generating buzz. We thank each of you who participated in the survey, and look forward to sharing the knowledge we gained from development leaders across the region.
