Welcome to the Fall Issue of Eolas!
As the summer winds down, we are all still feeling a flurry of activity as parents prepare their children to go back to school, and businesses continue to downsize, then rehire talent for the skills deficit they’re experiencing. And the U.S. economy continues to struggle to gain its foothold.
The common thread across each scenario is change. The accelerated pace of change in our world makes it increasingly challenging for teams to effectively complete a natural cycle of forming, storming, norming and performing. Leadership and talent management are stretched in all capacities: from building the right competencies to motivation, succession planning and retention.
We certainly feel it at CARA as we grow responsibly and strive to meet the needs of our clients. We invite you to read our feature article, “Want Better Training Results? Think About Change Management.”
Fostering strong relationships with our clients and consultants is the foundation of CARA’s growth. In this issue’s Team Spotlight, we invite you to meet one of CARA’s Strategic Account Managers who cultivates these relationships and sustains the CARA culture.
And, speaking of growth, we are honored to mention CARA made the list of Inc. magazine’s fastest growing private companies of 2011. We couldn’t have done that without you, our clients and consultants, so thank you!
Finally, just a reminder that Eolas is Gaelic for “information, knowledge.” We appreciate the opportunity to communicate information and share bits of knowledge through Eolas for the benefit of all of our “friends.” We strive to provide value in a combination of tips and techniques to enrich your organization. In addition to the feature article, this issue brings you links to resources that offer relevant industry information from local events like the Learning Leaders Conference; commentary on industry trends, a new case study that shares a mission-critical training success story at U.S. Cellular Corporation and a glimpse into happenings at CARA.
We hope you enjoy this issue of Eolas.
