Technical Communication
CARA’s clients are looking for technical writers with 4+ years of experience. A Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in technical writing, English, or related field is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with client to define documentation needs and develop documentation according to the client’s standards
- Create new or modify existing technical documents that are complex in nature
- Develop user guides, procedure manuals and training materials
- Edit documents and ensure that standards of quality, format and style are met
- Coordinate large production efforts
- Maintain and track multiple documents, ensure consistency and standardization
- Provide quality control for all documentation; standardize documentation to the client’s format
- Determine appropriate delivery method to achieve desired performance (online documentation, online help, job aids, procedure guides and reference materials)
- Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology
- Assist in laying out material for publication
Qualifications:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work with document author and customer management to understand content is essential
- Ability to interact frequently with IS personnel
- Strong consulting skills and experience working with SMEs and stakeholders
- Strong technical knowledge
- Knowledge of information mapping
Knowledge of the following or similar applications is also required:
- Framemaker, RoboHelp, RoboDemo, MS Office, Photoshop
